Shea McKibben (she/her)
NCLMBT #14590 since 2015
Founder, LMBT & Community Herbalist
I first became interested in studying the body when introduced to Ashtanga Yoga in 2011 during my initial years in college. Through developing my own body awareness I noticed how the practice of yoga not only transformed me physically, but supported my mental and emotional health as well.
In 2014, I moved to Asheville to attend The Asheville School of Massage and Yoga where I received my initial 675hr Massage Therapy training. Upon graduation I continued to further my studies primarily in Thai Massage, studying with world renowned teachers in the field. I’ve also studied Prenatal Massage and Doula support, Craniosacral Therapy, Thai Medical Theory for Bodyworkers, Cupping Therapy and Herbalism.
In 2016 I completed a Yoga Teacher Training and went on to teach to the Asheville community in both studio setting and through Light A Path, a local non-profit bringing somatic therapies to underserved populations in WNC.
My approach to massage and bodywork therapy is slow paced, mindful and detail oriented; giving you space to receive nourishing nervous system support and therapeutic touch.
Through a trauma-informed lens, I have created a professional and comfortable experience for my clients. I believe in an inclusive and safe space for all regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race or religion/spiritual background. It is my honor to assist you in feeling relaxed, pain free and at home in your body.
“I have had the gift of receiving thai and Swedish massages from Shea for many years now. Each and every massage has been deeply healing for me because of Shea's intuitive and skillful approach. I always feel that Shea tunes in to what my body needs and offers such clear presence during the session. Having the option to receive hot towels, aromatherapy, cups, and rosemary oil scalp massage take the experience to an entirely new level of deep relaxation and pure bliss. Thank you so much for years of supporting my body and nervous system!” - M.H.
